Bill Belichick gives the most Belichick-ian answer possible about Christmas

Bill Belichick doesn’t hate Christmas. Maybe. He did say last year that he loves caroling.

However, it won’t be surprising that the most serious man in the world — at least he likes giving off that vibe in every press conference — is inconvenienced by Christmas.

The New England Patriots coach asked the media if it was done with it’s shopping, then his inner grinch came out.

There might not be a better Belichick quote, unless he has one somewhere telling Santa Claus, “Do your job.”

It’s funny because Belichick is notoriously grumpy, but what he said is not entirely untrue. Teams generally don’t stop preparing for a day just because it’s Christmas. Though this year it’s a little easier on everyone because Christmas lands on Tuesday, which for most NFL teams is a day off for the players. But when Christmas lands on a Wednesday or Thursday, you can likely find your favorite NFL team meeting and practicing as usual.

No matter that the players will be off on Christmas Day, Belichick will probably celebrate the holiday with some festive film watching and a rousing round of game-planning.
