Big Inter win leaves Frosinone sweating over relegation

Serie A champions Inter Milan thrashed Frosinone 5-0 to leave the lowly home side sweating over possible relegation to Serie B.

With two weeks of the season remaining, six teams are hoping to avoid joining Salernitana in the second tier.

Frosinone are 16th on the 20-team table, two points above the relegation zone. They have two games left while teams above and below them have three. The result ended Frosinone's six-game unbeaten run.

Davide Frattesi scored Inter's first-half opener and Marko Arnautovic made it 2-0 after the hour on Friday.

Canadian midfielder Tajon Buchanan then got the third with his first goal for the club.

Lautaro Martinez scored his 24th goal of the league campaign with his left shot before Marcus Thuram completed the rout with a nice lob.

Como, meanwhile, returned to Serie A some 21 years after their last appearance in the top flight.

A 1-1 draw with Cosenza was enough to secure Como second place in Serie B, after third-placed Venezia lost 2-1 at Spezia.

The top two finishers are promoted automatically, while the third- through eighth-place finishers go into a playoff to determine the third promotion.

Serie B leaders Parma have already secured promotion.

Since Indonesian billionaire brothers Robert and Michael Hartono bought the club in 2019, Como have steadily climbed up from Serie D.
