The Best Kirkland Signature Items, According to Costco Experts
Make a beeline for the deli section.
Costco/Allrecipes
More than 3.2 million people shop at Costco daily, which makes sense since the store has much to offer. Between the prepared meals and sweet chocolate snacks, the variety is endless and affordable. But with so many items to check out in the grocery section alone, shopping can be intimidating. After all, you don’t want to bring home 10 pounds of Alaskan cod just to find out it’s not your cup of tea.
Thankfully, there are experts to help, and they are passionate about the offerings from the Kirkland Signature brand. Hint: you should be, too.
The Best Kirkland Signature Items at Costco
If you think you’re a Costco fan, you might have some competition. Meet David and Susan Schwartz, the duo who have explored more than 200 different Costco stores throughout the nation and worldwide. If that doesn’t qualify them as super fans, we don’t know what does.
The two, who live in a small New York City apartment, started their Costco journey back in March 2023 to not only learn more about their favorite retail store but also to write a book about it: “The Joy of Costco: A Treasure Hunt from A to Z.” The book includes everything you could ever want to know about Costco, including how the store keeps its prices low, what kind of sustainability efforts it takes, and more. It also tells us what to buy when shopping there and why it will probably be at the deli counter.
According to these experts, the two most beloved Kirkland Signature items are the KS Pesto, made with Genovese basil, and the KS Smoked Salmon found in the deli section. They also say the KS cheese section is top-notch, with goat cheese logs, wheels of Brie, and grated, aged Parmigiana-Reggiano to choose from.
We caught up with David and Susan to see what else they would suggest, and lucky for us, they had plenty to add to the list. Here are 20 more of their Kirkland Signature favorites that you might want to grab on your next Costco run:
