Union Berlin and Hertha Berlin have played out a 1-1 draw in the Berlin derby while Ludwig Augustinsson's late own goal has given VfB Stuttgart a 1-0 home win against Werder Bremen in the latest Bundesliga action.

A stunning volley from Robert Andrich opened the scoring for Union in the 10th minute on Sunday but Dodi Lukebakio equalised from the spot before halftime.

The game was played behind closed doors due to the coronavirus pandemic, but fans made their own party with fireworks outside of the stadium.

Stewards quickly rushed to clear the situation and extinguish the fire, but the loud firework noises only ceased at the An der Alten Foersterei stadium after about three minutes.

Fighting for a Europa League spot, Union remain seventh and have missed the chance to move two points off the qualification zone.

Meanwhile, Stuttgart's win came in an intense, mistake-riddled clash.

Just when the game was set to end in a goalless draw, it was an unfortunate mistake by Augustinsson that gave Stuttgart the three points.

The defender tried to make a clearance between Sasa Kalajdzic and Tanguy Coulibaly but ended up placing the ball into his own net in the 81st minute.

Stuttgart moved up to eighth place in the standings and can keep dreaming of a Europa League spot, just four points off the qualification zone.
