'Be careful': Parcel sparks major panic in post office

Post office workers were shocked after a huge python broke out of a parcel labelled as a Japanese anime action figurine.

The small box covered in packaging tape ripped in the corner and had a written note stuck on top warning it contained a one piece anime big-scale model.

"Be careful because it is very expensive," the note said.

However the ripped corner gave the three-metre-long python a chance to poke its head out at the post office in Bangkok, Thailand, on March 16.

It sparked panic among workers and staff who were sorting out parcels for delivery.

One of the staff immediately called the animal rescuers for assistance as they could not handle the big snake by themselves.

When the team arrived, they cornered the snake upon spotting as it could hide under several boxes that were in the office at that time.

The reptile was aggressive but it was big and slow so it was quickly secured by the snake wranglers.

A volunteer pinned down its head with a pole and a colleague helped him place it inside a sack so they could drive away with it to release back into the wild.

The post office administration had conducted an investigation to identify the sender and had them explain whether they knew about the snake or if the animal mistakenly slithered inside.
