Liz Cambage in hot water over 'dirty' on-court act
Aussie basketball star Liz Cambage is reportedly under investigation over a play that's been labelled 'dirty' and a 'dog act'.
According to News Corp, the WNBL has launched a probe into the play that saw Melbourne Boomers forward Cambage appear to intentionally injure an opponent.
As you can see in the video above, Canberra's Mistie Bass tumbled to the floor in pain and had to be substituted after a clash with Cambage during Melbourne's 96-66 victory on Saturday.
Bass was looking up at the ring and facing away from Cambage when the Aussie Opals star appeared to lift her knee into Bass's leg as she was moving forward.
The nasty incident seemed to have gone unnoticed, but fan furore has sparked the WNBL into action.
Fans were fuming with Cambage on social media, with Bass 'liking' a number of tweets.
Wow! That’s unacceptable! I hope the WNBL look into the incident. Sorry you were subjected to that poor behaviour. Hope you are ok.

Wondering where the report is for the dog act by Liz Cambage over the weekend @WNBL. Clearly a suspension is in order.

I’m a massive Liz Cambage fan and a whole heap of men laying the boots in on social media is doing nothing for me!
That wasn’t a natural movement though, not saying she tried to injure but looked for the contact surely?— Alex Emery (@AtotheEbitch) November 20, 2017
@andrewbogut Tried tagging you in an article about Liz Cambage kneeing someone in the back on Facebook but I realised we aren’t friends. #DamnDaniel

She is actually the biggest 👶🏼 I have ever seen on a bball court. She also abuses the crap out of her teammates. Jenna O'Shea had to continuously calm her down today. No excuses for trying to injure a player, any lower and could of damaged @A_Phoenix_Born knee .

Cambage is back in the WNBL after stints in the WNBA and China.
The 26-year-old is leading the competition with 22.58 average points per game.
