Wade may join Cavs after deal reached with Bulls

Dwyane Wade is the last household name standing in the Bulls' locker room, but it sounds like he will be gone from Chicago before the regular season tips off.

A multi-month buyout saga between the Bulls and Wade could to be nearing an end just days before training camp begins.

According to the Chicago Tribune, the Bulls and Wade have reached an agreement on a buyout of his $23.8 million option for the 2017-18 season, resulting in Wade becoming a free agent.

Wade picked up his option for the 2017-18 season only days before the team traded Jimmy Butler, all but assuring that the Bulls would be in rebuilding mode in the foreseeable future.

The Cavs are the favourite to land Wade, who would reunite with LeBron James and create a formidable backcourt with Isaiah Thomas and Derrick Rose in Cleveland. The Spurs and Heat are also in the mix.

Wade averaged 18.3 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.8 assists in 60 games last season, playing 29.9 minutes per game.

That scoring output in his first season in Chicago was his worst since his rookie 2003-04 campaign with the Heat, and his 43.4 percent shooting from the field was a career low.
