NBA star cops ultimate rejection from model on Instagram

Superstar Kristaps Porzingis has just copped the ultimate NBA rejection, for the whole world to see.

The seven-foot-three Latvian, who's been known to try his luck across the Instagram pages of young models, just chose the wrong lady to message.

Porzingis was trawling his Instagram feed when he came across the stunning profile of Croatian model Ines Nikic.

As he's done before on other accounts, he left a heart-eyes emoji and awaited a positive response.

However what he received in return was a public shaming.

Nikic posted an image of herself kissing what appears to be her boyfriend, alongside the caption, "@kporzee (Kristaps Porzingis) who? Are you sleeping peacefully Kristaps Porzingis?"

Ouch.

The New York Knicks big man took the crushing blow like a champ, posting a couple of laughing emojis with the text "oh s'''''' my bad".

He wouldn't be getting too down on himself though, after having much more luck in the past on Instagram, even with a Sports Illustrated model.

He posted a similar comment on a racy image of Abigail Ratchford in February and received an extremely positive response.

It's not known if the pair took their Instagram flirting any further.

"I mean, you always gotta find a little bit of time for the girls, right? But there’s nothing serious really. Nothing too serious," the skilful centre told GQ.

"I haven’t been that social yet, and I have been mostly focusing on basketball, but when I have a little more time I might to have to meet some new people."

Porzingis has recently been on the outer with his team the Knicks, after making it clear how he felt about the dysfunction at the franchise when he skipped out on his post-season exit interview.

The New York Daily News reported last week that a recent talk between Porzingis' brother, Janis — who is also his agent — and team president Phil Jackson "did very little to bridge the chasm" between the Knicks and their 7-3 star.

Coach Jeff Hornacek told the Daily News recently that he had reached out to Porzingis via text message, but had not received a response.

Janis Porzingis told ESPN earlier this month that his brother wants to stay with the Knicks, but he has issues with the direction of the team.

"Kris wants to stay in New York; he feels at home there. There is no question about it," Janis Porzingis said

"The only thing he wants is for the Knicks to create an environment where he can develop and grow as a player and win.

"If he were traded, he would play out his contract and head into free agency, where he can choose his own destiny."

Porzingis is currently in Europe with the Latvian national team preparing for this summer’s European championships, a move he did not discuss with the Knicks.

While the team cannot prohibit a player from competing in international competition, Porzingis had respected the Knicks' wishes and not played for the Latvian team the past two summers.
