Simmons shows off healthy foot with explosive pre-game dunk

Ben Simmons is on the road to an NBA debut after foot surgery late last year, and his pre-game dunk suggests all is well.

The No.1 draft pick's first season was cruelled when he suffered a Jones fracture of the fifth metatarsal in his right foot in September.

The Philadelphia 76ers prospect underwent a minor procedure in late February, having bone marrow injected to give his recovery a boost.

Simmons is currently on a road trip with the 76ers, taking part in shootarounds and practice sessions with coach Brett Brown and his staff.

"He's doing great," Brown said on Saturday.

"We're in the middle of another long road trip, we've got six left on the road. Five at home. (Ben has) been with us on the whole trip. He's resumed a sort of normal training schedule.

"There still is no timeline on it. But, to have the ability to have him with me and with us ... You treat him like he's in the game and on the team. It's just that ongoing growth that rookies need.

"Even though he didn't touch the court this year, we were able to expedite some of those things that get him ready for his first NBA season next year."
