Mills caps off NBA scoring blitz with humongous three-pointer
Patty Mills has helped inspire San Antonio to a thrilling win over Boston in the NBA, after a point-scoring spree that included a monster three-pointer.
The Aussie guard made a season-high 19 points for Spurs in the 109 – 103 win over the Celtics, to again demonstrate his growing influence at the Western Conference giants.
San Antonio got off to a sluggish start but Mills helped them kick into gear in the second half, where the Aussie contributed 13 of his points tally.
The highlight of Mills’s hot streak undoubtedly came at the end of the third quarter, when the Aussie drained a humongous three-point buzzer beater from the arc of the centre-circle logo.
The Aussie was at least two metres behind the three-point line, but he nailed the shot with just 4-tenths-of-a-second left on the clock.
“And Mills takes it from Melbourne… I mean, wow!” the commentator exclaimed as the Aussie gave Spurs a one point lead going into the final quarter.
