Simmons block conjures up memories of Lebron

Jonathan Simmons pulled off two incredible plays during San Antonio’s massive victory over Golden State in their NBA opener.

The Spurs shooting guard was everywhere in the 129-100 demolition job against the championship favourites, but it was his block on Warriors superstar Steph Curry that brought back fond memories of Lebron James’s effort in last season’s NBA Finals series.

After seeing the Warriors steal possession and dish the pass to Curry at the other end of the court, Simmons showed such a determination to retrieve the ball, that the reigning league MVP never knew what hit him.

What looked like being an easy lay-up for Curry turned into a monster block for Simmons, who pinned the shot to the backboard in the same manner as Lebron did on Andre Iguodala.

As if that wasn’t impressive enough, the Spurs man capped off an inspired 20-point haul with a huge dunk in the face of JaVale McGee.
