Jason Day's wife injured in collision with LeBron

Jason Day's wife has been taken to hospital in a neck brace after she was cleaned up by LeBron James at a Cleveland Cavaliers game.

Day and wife Ellie were sitting court-side at Quicken Loans Arena when 113 kg LeBron went flying over the sideline and crashed into the Aussie golfer's wife.

The four-time NBA MVP was chasing a loose ball when he tumbled towards the seats.

Ellie felt the full force of the impact, falling back in her chair with LeBron landing on top of her.

She was placed in a neck brace and taken to hospital after a lengthy delay.

Ellie was alert and talking as her husband accompanied her to an ambulance.

LeBron told cleveland.com that Ellie appeared to be OK after the incident.

"She squeezed my hand, said she was fine," James said. "I think she was just a little weary."

"For me, obviously, her health is very important and hopefully she is doing well. The guys told me she's doing great now. For me, just going for a loose ball, tried to keep the possession going, I just hate that that was the end result."

Commentators and fellow spectators were clearly concerned as medical staff attended to her.

"Suddenly she's been hit by a 250-260 pound guy going full speed," one commentator said.

Jason and Ellie have been married since 2009 and have a home in Columbus, Ohio.

They are regularly spotted at Cavs games.

They have a three-year-old-son Dash and a one-month-old daughter Lucy.
