Teammates in tears after horror leg break

It's the injury that's been called the worst in basketball history

Fellow teammates were in tears after Louisville Cardinals guard Kevin Ware suffered a horrific leg break while attempting to challenge a three-point shot.

Ware landed awkwardly in the contest, and was left writhing in pain on the ground with a bone visibly protruding out of the skin.

The Cardinals were playing the Midwest Regional Final against the Duke Blue Devils

The incident happened in front of the Louisville bench, with one reporter at the scene Tweeting players were seen vomiting.

Trainers rushed to cover the injury with a towel, and stretchered Ware off with the crowd stunned into complete silence.

He was later taken to Methodist Hospital of Indianapolis to undergo surgery.
