Aust Baseball League plans busy January

The Australian Baseball League's 2020/21 season will get off to a flying start with games played on 26 out of 31 days in January.

Two week-long hubs - one in Adelaide, the other in Brisbane - headline a hectic month following the season's opening match on Friday, December 17.

The Sydney Blue Sox will host the Melbourne Aces in the first game of the season.

A number of changes were made to incorporate Adelaide and Brisbane into the six-team schedule after Auckland and Geelong-Korea withdrew from the upcoming season.

The Heat's remaining home games have also been pushed back until later in January to give Perth every chance of hosting based on current WA border restrictions.

The Brisbane Bandits and Adelaide Giants, who were initially slated to play in an international conference, will make a later start to the season after basing their preparations on an early January start.
