Aussie skipper undone by Kiwi counterpart's incredible slips catch

New Zealand have claimed the key scalps of Australian stars Alyssa Healy, captain Meg Lanning and Ellyse Perry for a combined total of just 16 runs in the first ODI.

The morning of destruction at the WACA started when Healy was well beaten by Lea Tahuhu.

The wicketkeeper-batter was out for just four runs when her off-stump bails were knocked off by the Kiwi bowler.

Lanning’s arrival at the crease saw Rachael Haynes take over, dominating the strike and scoring runs to boot.

Then White Ferns debutant Rosemary Mair stepped up to take her first wicket in ODI cricket – with the help of her captain Amy Satterthwaite.

The 16th ball Lanning faced caught her outside edge.

Diving hard and fast to make up for being the only player in the slips cordon, Satterthwaite stuck her right hand out and caught the Kookaburra clean.

After Lanning contributed only six runs Perry was dismissed six overs later for the same impact.
