'World class': Aussie monster Justis Huni destroys rival despite protest
Aussie boxing prospect Justis Huni has continued his rise to superstardom after destroying Jusin Maris in the first round of the their heavyweight encounter.
Huni, 22, is considered by many as a future world star in the heavyweight division and put his reputation on the line against the tall and rangy Maris.

But Huni locked onto his six-foot-nine opponent from the get go and towards the end of the first round, a brutal left body shot had Maris on the back foot.
He then walked him down and delivered a barrage of hooks to the body and head, which prompted the referee to jump in and stop the fight at the end of Round 1.
Maris was frustrated at the stoppage and appeared to protest with the referee.
But the damage was done and for many it was clear Huni was not only a class above, but is destined for bigger things after he moved 3-0.
Many labelled Huni the 'best young heavyweight' around were excited for the 109kg Aussies' Olympic medal bid later this year.

Easy work for Justis Huni. He should probably be fighting better quality opposition than this, but that will come in time.... #ozboxing #Huni

Jack Maris blowing up about an early stoppage but it was clear Justis Huni is legitimately world class and Jack is not. Ref saved him for being KO’d clean #ausboxing

First round stoppage for Justis Huni. 3-0 now with 3 stoppages. Time to fight Lucas Browne, and then off to get that gold at heavyweight at the Tokyo Olympics 🥇🇦🇺 #HuniMaris pic.twitter.com/eL0ceSFLpW

Regardless of the barrage, Maris was clearly infuriated at the stoppage.
But it didn't appear things were going to get any better for the outmatched heavyweight.

Justis Huni with a massive first-round victory over Jack Maris. Yet another KO.
Maris not happy with the stoppage but didn't look like he had any defence. #HuniMaris pic.twitter.com/QzPkIqrLmt— Lachlan McKirdy (@LMcKirdy7) April 10, 2021
1st round KO for Huni. Kind of an early stoppage but it wasn't gonna get better for Maris

lmao I hope you caught that coz Maris couldn't catch those hands. Ref stops it after 2:45 in the first round. Huni goes 3-0. Maris unhappy with the early stop but Huni was swarming him with blazing body shots.

Huni happy to be back boxing
"It feels amazing, it feels fantastic to be back," Huni said.
When asked about the potential early stoppage, Huni said it was "out of my control."
Huni is looking to fight two more times, under the amateur rules, before he competes at the Tokyo Olympics.
He is looking to avenge his lost against 201cm reigning world champ Bakhodir Jalolov at the Olympics.
