Aussie little league coach's touching moment after 15-0 thrashing

Australian little league manager Brent Iddon has produced one of the most heartfelt speeches in the face of defeat.

Following a heavy 15-0 thrashing, most coaches would be furious or at a loss for words – but Iddon lauded his team in an touching show of emotion.

Still mic’d up from earlier in the game, Iddon’s uplifting speech was caught on camera.

“We knew that all of you were meant to be here,” said Australian manager Brent Iddon.

“I couldn’t be prouder of every single one of you guys.

“I’m serious, come in and give me a hug.

“I told you guys to wear this with pride, and you’ve done that.”

The Australia manager consoled his team and embraced them following their final game in Williamsport.

Australia lost the Little League World Series consolation game 15-0 to New England, capping off relatively disappointing overall performance in the series.

Speaking at the press conference following the match, Iddon said the build-up to the series took its toll on the boys due to the long summer in Australia.

“We had our whole summer, and then we won three months ago,” Iddon said.

“And it’s winter in Australia now, so obviously keeping the boys sharp was a bit rough.

“But we came, and we came and we took it all in.”

The Aussies struggled to put runs on the board in their final game, and found it difficult to recover after the game slipped away early.

At the end of the day, Iddon boosted the team’s spirits with an uplifting finish.

“Now lets go and have some fun,” Iddon finished with in his speech.

“We’ll go watch the Braves.”
