Fawad Ahmed has undergone gum surgery after he was smashed in the face while bowling in the Pakistan Super League.
The Pakistani-born Australian spinner couldn’t get his hands up in time after Peshawar batsman Imam-ul-Haq cracked a straight drive back towards him.
The ball hit Fawad flush in the face, sending him reeling away in pain.

After spending some time in hospital, the 37-year-old is expected to play in the final for Quetta Gladiators.
