Are England about to establish international soccer’s next dynasty?

When Euro 2020 was postponed until next summer, England manager Gareth Southgate noted that it would be an advantage for his team, whose younger players could gain another season of experience.

Now, it appears that the Three Lions have the most exciting crop of young players in all of international soccer, who could help England to establish a period of dominance.

Much of the focus right now falls upon the attacking quartet of Mason Greenwood, Jadon Sancho, Phil Foden and Bukayo Saka.

All were born in either 2000 or 2001, all are gaining experience at top European clubs, and all have the potential to excel on the international stage.

At the weekend, Greenwood showed he is truly the real deal with a sensational display against Bournemouth, while Saka booked his first Premier League goal and a new Arsenal contract in the past week.

Sancho has certainly proven himself in the Bundesliga, while Phil Foden has shown he can comfortably operate among Manchester City’s elite options.

In addition to those four players, England boast a plethora of stars who are 23 or under: Trent Alexander Arnold, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, James Maddison, Mason Mount, Calum Hudson Odoi, and Curtis Jones are among those likely to become England senior regulars.

Of course, not all of those players will become international superstars, and players like Foden will need more game time to truly be in contention.

And, an international team that forges a great dynasty like Spain, also needs a superior tactical system and a unique alchemy to succeed.

But England are currently favorites to win Euro 2020, in 2021, and with a young group of players
who will be ready for tournament play next summer it’s easy to see why.

England fans don’t usually have a lot to be excited about, but it’s clear that Gareth Southgate will have a tremendous amount of luxury options when picking his team in the coming years.
