'Anything can happen': Cricket world erupts over crazy final-ball drama

MS Dhoni’s incredible 84 runs not out in Chennai’s massive chase was undone on the final ball as his team lost by one run to the Royal Challengers Bangalore.

The classy batsman turned the game around after an insane 48-ball innings to put his team needing 26 off the last over.

He then blasted a four and three sixes off the last over to leave 2 runs needed off the final ball.

But the Indian legend missed the final ball from paceman Umesh Yadav and attempted to run a bye to level the game.

But wicketkeeper Parthiv Patel collected the ball and threw down the stumps to grant the Challengers with an unbelievable final over win.

The Challengers’ captain Virat Kholi was full of praise for the ODI and Test legend.

“A whole lot of emotions. We thought we were outstanding with the ball till the 19th over mark. To be very honest, that was the last thing I would have expected,” Kholi said after the game.

“But anything can happen in the game of cricket. MS (Dhoni) did what he does well and gave us a scare.”
