With the mid-season league break almost coming to its end, the M-League scheduled to resume and the Malaysia Cup set to kick off in early July, Selangor's Indonesia star Andik Vermansah is raring for another crack at the cup again.

Having recovered from a lengthy injury he picked up late last season while playing for the Garudas, to rejoin Selangor's competitions squad in the mid-season transfer window, the winger used the competitions break to work on his fitness.

When met by the press following Selangor 3-0 win over third-tier side Petaling Jaya Rangers in a friendly, Andik said that his mind is already on the cup competition.

"It's not we're too far adrift (in the Super League), but Selangor's winning mentality is always more prominent in Malaysia Cup," he explained.

And according to him, his injury has shown no signs of recurring, and he is prepared to feature for the Red Giants again.

"Praise God, I can't feel the injury anymore and I am alright again physically.

"I have to work on my mental strength, but God willing I am ready now as I have been playing in the friendlies," said the former Persebaya player.

Andik won the 2015 Malaysia Cup with Selangor; their historic 33rd title, and captained the Red Giants in the latter stages of the 2016 edition, including in the final match in which they eventually lost on penalties to Kedah, the same opponents they defeated in the 2015 final.

Selangor will resume their league campaign by hosting T-Team on July 1, and begin their Malaysia Cup group stage against Terengganu, also at home on July 4.
