A day after Su Oh clawed her way to be in contention at the LPGA Tour's Pelican Championship, the Australian faded to be 10 shots off the pace set by world No.1 Nelly Korda and Lexi Thompson.

While the majority of the field went low, Oh mixed two birdies with five bogeys for a three-over 73 to drop from a share of 10th to tied-33rd at five-under, in a group which includes countrywoman Katherine Kirk (68).

Meanwhile, Thompson maintained her hold on first place she was joined at the top by fellow American Korda - who carded a day's best seven-under 63 in Florida.

Korda's round was tied for second-best of the tournament, leaving her and Thompson at 16-under 194 at Pelican Golf Club.

"Yeah, I was hitting it better off the tee today and just gave myself some really good looks... ," Korda said.

"So I gave myself some really good looks, so at least going in the right direction."

Thompson shot a five-under 65, her day marked by six birdies and a bogey, as she attempts to end a wait of more than two years for her 12th LPGA Tout victory.

"It'll be a good final day. Looking forward to it. Hopefully we just make a lot of birdies out there," she said.

Jennifer Kupcho was tied for the lead until she ended a streak of 45 consecutive holes at par or better by closing with a bogey for a 66 to sit third.

She was along in third, with Kim and Kim two behind.

Christina Kim and South Korea's defending champion Sei Young Kim, shot five-under 65 rounds, to share fourth.

The rest of the top 10 includes New Zealand's Lydia Ko (64) and Thailand's Patty Tavatanakit (64), tied for sixth at 13-under, Ireland's Leona Maguire (68) in eighth at 12-under with Thailand's Pornanong Phatlum (67) and Mexico's Maria Fassi (68) at 10-under.
