Akwa United should forget getting anything in Lagos, says MFM's Ammeh

The Olukoya Boys are hoping to leave the relegation zone and the midfielder says securing a win against the Promise Keepers is non-negotiable

MFM's Wilfred Ammeh urges Akwa United to banish dreams of getting anything in Friday's rescheduled Nigeria Professional Football League tie at the Agege Stadium.

Fidelis Ilechukwu's men are 17th on the league log and must see off Abdu Maikaba's side to swim out of relegation after their 1-1 draw in the Caf Champions League at AS Real Bamako.

Regardless of Akwa United's position as league leaders, the midfielder insists they will not leave anything to chance in their bid to claim the maximum points.

"I'm very happy the team came back from Mali with an important draw and the mood is still very high within us for Akwa United match," Wilfred told Goal.

"I'm not disappointed that I could not make the trip due to some issues with my travelling documents which has been sorted now.

"For Akwa, we will be ready for them. We are highly motivated by our away draw in the Caf Champions League and very determined to get the maximum points against them.

“We know they lost their continental match at home but we will not underrate them at all, more especially because they are on top of the league table.

"We have worked hard to win our home games this season and we will surely ensure victory against Akwa United. Our current position is not good enough and that's why it is important we beat them."
