Kurt Tippett has found his way to the Sydney Swans, selected by the reigning premiers with selection No.11 in Tuesday's pre-season draft.

After months of controversy following Tippett's departure from Adelaide and the subsequent discovery of salary cap breaches associated with the key forward's contract, the 25-year-old has finally made his way to the Swans.

According to the ''Herald-Sun'', Tippett will be offered a two-year contract at Sydney, although he will miss the majority of next season's matches as he serves an 11-match ban.

This ban also means Tippett cannot play in any feeder competitions prior to Round 12 next season, meaning he could have to gain match practice in the NEAFL prior to commencing his career with the Swans.

In other selections, Greater Western Sydney have picked up former Carlton utility Bret Thornton, while Brent Prismall's hopes of being selected for a third AFL club were dashed when the Western Bulldogs passed up the opportunity to take the former Bomber and Cat and instead selected Brett Goodes, the brother of Adam, as a rookie.
