Port Adelaide will be without midfielder Hamish Hartlett for two weeks after he was found guilty of striking at the AFL tribunal on Tuesday night.

Hartlett was charged with striking Hawthorn's Cyril Rioli during the first quarter of their clash at Aurora Stadium on Saturday and could have accepted a one-week ban with an early plea.

But the Power chose to fight the charge and argued that the degree of impact was low rather than medium, which would have reduced the penalty to a reprimand and 93.75 to his future record.

But the tribunal needed less than five minutes to uphold the match review panel's recommended two-week suspension.

Hartlett will miss matches against West Coast and Brisbane, but will be available for the Power's final-round meeting against Richmond.
