St Kilda star Brendon Goddard has accepted a two-match ban for striking, but Tiger Daniel Jackson has chosen to contest his two-week penalty for a hit on Adelaide's Chris Knights.

Goddard was cited for a round-arm strike to the neck of North Melbourne tagger Sam Wright during the final quarter of the Saints' 33-point loss to North at Etihad Stadium on Sunday.

The match review panel slapped Goddard with a level four striking offence, ruling the contact as intentional, high and of medium impact, drawing 325 demerit points, an amount that was reduced to 243.75 with his early guilty plea.

The utility's ban is a big blow for the Saints, who have slipped outside the eight after losing three of their past four games, and who face Essendon next up.

The Bombers will be similarly hard hit, however, with key forward Stewart Crameri accepting his two game ban for engaging in rough conduct against Western Bulldog Dylan Addison.

Jackson will contest his two-game penalty for a strike on Knights, but the midfielder will not be risking any addition to that sanction by heading to the tribunal on Tuesday night.

Jackson's poor record saw his tally of 187.50 points increased by 50 percent, meaning what would have been a one-game ban increased to two.

All other players have accepted their penalties, with Hawthorn defender Brent Guerra taking his three-match suspension for a crude bump on Carlton's Eddie Betts.

And Adelaide forward Taylor Walker has accepted his three-game ban for a spear tackle on Richmond's Steven Morris.

Coach's point is that Taylor Walker was given a free kick for the same incident that earned him a 3 week ban! Yes, the very same tackle. Surely the ump who is right next to the action would have a better feel for it than some idiot with a camera replay from 120 metres away?

Which Walker are you talking about Coach? Hopefully (for your sake) not Adelaide's Taylor Walker. The Crows get the worst treatment from the umpires out of all the clubs, hands down!! And T.Walker's 2 week ban earlier in the season was rubbish.
