D'Arcy suspended for nasty AFLW kick
Collingwood player Sarah D'Arcy has been offered a two-game suspension for kicking Carlton's Sarah Hosking in Friday night's AFLW opener.
In a bizarre scene that occurred in the third quarter at Princes Park, D'Arcy lashed out at Hosking's groin after taking a mark.
The umpire overturned the mark and awarded Hosking a free kick.
It is believed new AFL match review officer Michael Christian took the length of the women's season -- with just six games remaining in the regular season -- into account when deciding the two-match ban.
D'Arcy will miss matches against Fremantle and GWS.
Hosking produced a light-hearted response to the incident after the game:
In other review news, Western Bulldogs star Katie Brennan was reprimanded for rough conduct on Fremantle opponent Stephanie Cain.
