Roberton cops stitches after savage low blow

St Kilda defender Dylan Roberton has been put in hospital by an unfortunate cricket mishap during a break in pre-season training on Monday.

Roberton uploaded footage of himself being struck with a low blow by a tennis ball, an incident that required 4-6 stitches.

He revealed the perpetrator in the caption: Shane Savage.

"When you misjudge a @shanesavage05 slower ball #bowlingshane," Roberton wrote.

Savage's wife commented: "Oh God, he felt so bad!! Hope you’re all good now."

A second photo uploaded by Roberton showed the 26-year-old sitting on a hospital bed with his three kids.

He will be on light duties for the next week but he has suffered no serious damage.
