VFL Women's star Molloy is hard as nails

Courage and hardness are two of the hallmarks that make AFL so loved and tribal.

But this feat from teen VFL Women’s star Chloe Molloy is the equal to anything you will see at the big dance on the MCG on Saturday.

Playing in the VFL Women’s Grand Final on Sunday for Diamond Creek against Darebin Molly was crunched between two opponents, looking to take a knock in the head as well as the shoulder.

She was laid out on the ground with team support staff coming to the field instantly.

Instead of coming to the field Molly popped up, accepted her free kick and under obvious duress in her routine, slotted home her team’s first goal.

She immediately went down on her haunches, fighting back tears as teammates came to celebrate with her.

Hard as nails.

Molloy is undergoing scans on the collar bone today, as seen in a reply to North Melbourne forward Ben Brown's tweet.

The young star is expected to be a first round pick in the AFL Women’s draft.

It’s easy to see why.
