Collingwood chief executive Gary Pert resigns

Gary Pert has resigned from his role as Collingwood's chief executive, the club has confirmed.

The Magpies will host a press conference at 2pm this afternoon, with Pert expected to announce he will leave at the end of the season.

Pert has spent 10 years in charge of the AFL club, serving under long-time president Eddie McGuire.

The Pies recently backed coach Nathan Buckley to finish the year despite dwindling on-field results.

The club recently began a review into their football operations, with Buckley's position to be considered after round 23.

Collingwood secured a come-from-behind win over West Coast on Sunday after losing two players to injury.
