'What just happened?': America's hilarious take on AFL thriller

Sydney's incredible after-the-siren victory over Essendon has gone global.

The Swans stormed home to beat the Bombers on Friday night, erasing a 19-point deficit with under four minutes remaining and kicking two goals in the final 60 seconds to win.

Gary Rohan sealed the remarkable victory with the winning goal after the final siren, and the insane game has since made it to America.

ESPN's 'Sportcenter' recently featured the game in their 'Bad Beats' segment, and while excited, they seemed a bit confused by it all.

MANIFESTLY INADEQUATE: AFL to appeal light Houli ban

STEVO'S STING: What the Houli appeal means for AFL tribunal

Here's how hosts Scott van Pelt and Steve Coughlin analysed the thrilling final moments:

Coughlin: What just happened?

Van Pelt: There's some kicking and some catching and the goals are worth six. I think the problem was Essendon...when the ball went out of bounds...see the official, the referee, they zing it back over their heads and once Sydney got it back then they've got to kick it down there and when they catch it that sets up the uncontested kick.

Coughlin: The referees are very active in Aussie Rules.

They then showed some vision of the Swans celebrating in the changerooms.

Van Pelt: That's some dudes in some really short shorts singing songs.

Coughlin: You think they were drinking after this one?

Van Pelt: Maybe during.
