Buddy boots 80m monster goal

There's nothing like a massive play to lift a footy team, and they don't come much bigger than Lance Franklin's long-range stunner against Brisbane at the SCG.

After a winless start to the season, the Swans needed a confidence-booster against the Lions and Buddy provided it in style during the first quarter.

The ball spilled to Franklin from deep inside Sydney's half and the big forward took off up the ground to get within range of goal.

Buddy was still a good 80 metres out from the posts when he decided to pull the trigger, but the distance was no issue for his massive left boot.

The massive punt was hit straight and sweet, although it did need a kind bounce or two to roll through the posts for a sensational major.

It helped set the Swans up for a commanding 7.5 (47) - 2.0 (12) lead at quarter time.

By halftime, Buddy had kicked five goals to help the Swans stretch their advantage to 44 points at the main break.
