Richmond star Martin battling groin soreness

Richmond star Dustin Martin has a fresh injury concern but he expects to be available to face Melbourne on Monday night at the MCG.

7 News chief football reporter Mark Stevens revealed Martin is battling groin soreness and had scans on Wednesday.

Speaking outside the doctors, Martin said they are looking to stay on top of the issue.

"Just got to have a look, go see the doc and see what he reckons," Martin told 7 News.

"It's feeling alright ... I don't think (it will be a long-term problem). I should be fine."

Martin has already had one injury concern this season, having suffered a fractured cheekbone against Collingwood in round two.

He played through the break to record 40 disposals against West Coast before picking up just 16 in the Tigers' win over Brisbane on the weekend.

Richmond defender Bachar Houli also underwent scans but said it was a general check-up that has no bearing on his availability for round five.
