This Week in AFL on Seven: Round 1

Three prime time AFL clashes and the AFLW Grand Final; The Front Bar, Game Day and Talking Footy return on Channel 7 and 7mate.

After a long off-season wait for fans, the footy’s finally back on Seven tomorrow with the traditional Carlton v Richmond season opener, in front of an expected bumper crowd of 70,000 plus at the MCG.

At half time we catch up with Tigers sharp shooter Jack Riewoldt as he talks about leadership and his 2017 on-field role.

Reigning premiers the Western Bulldogs are set to light up Friday Night Football against the Magpies.

Collingwood will be aiming to exact revenge on the Dogs after their heart-breaking three-point loss in Round 21 last year.

Bruce McAvaney and Brian Taylor lead the call, while the game’s greatest centre half forward ever Wayne Carey will be keeping a close eye on new Bulldog forward Travis Cloke throughout the night.

Essendon welcomes back their star-studded line-up after serving controversial suspensions to take on the Hawks on Saturday Night Footy at the MCG.

The inaugural AFLW Grand Final comes LIVE from Metricon Stadium Saturday afternoon as minor premiers Brisbane host the Crows for the right to be crowned AFLW premiers, an event marking a spectacular milestone in sporting equality and history.

All eyes will be on Adelaide stars Sarah Perkins and Erin Phillips to power the Crows to success, while the Lions will be counting on Kate McCarthy and Sabrina Frederick-Traub to bring home the flag.

Sunday Football sees the Adelaide Crows host premiership favourites GWS Giants at Adelaide Oval.

Footy satirist Titus O’Reily has some fun with Giants skipper Callan Ward in the pre-game build-up.

While we also catch up with star forward Josh Jenkins about why he stayed loyal to the Crows.

Fan favourite AFL Game Day returns on Sunday morning hosted by Hamish McLachlan with a cracking first show including Nick Riewoldt, Daisy Pearce and Jude Bolton on the panel and special guest Jordan Lewis.

Then the pioneering Talking Footy returns Monday night with host Bulldogs great Luke Darcy alongside four-time Essendon best and fairest Tim Watson, dual premiership captain Wayne Carey and news breaker Sam McClure to tackle all the big issues and news in the game.
