Campbell Brown sparks social media stoush with Gary Ablett
Former Gold Coast Suns player Campbell Brown has launched a scathing attack on ex-teammate Gary Ablett on Twitter.
The retired Brown was highly critical of Ablett's decision to take some extra time off and delay his return to Suns pre-season training.
Brown tweeted on Thursday that Ablett's teammates weren't happy about the no-show, especially considering rumours he recently requested a trade back to former club Geelong.
My mail Suns players filthy Gaz, who messaged all reaffirming commitment 2 club after requesting trade, hasn't return for day 1 pre season

Suns management granted Ablett a longer break for his delayed honeymoon after getting married on New Year's Day this year.
The Gold Coast captain's response was short and sweet.
Mate, you've got my number https://t.co/XZnAvhlLgL

Retired Port Adelaide great Kane Cornes weighed into the debate, defending Ablett.
I'm not sure they can be too angry, he's carried them for 6 years https://t.co/UU7NgE3kQr

But Brown stuck to his guns, pointing to Hawthorn skipper Luke Hodge's early return to training as an example of leadership.
@kanecornes He didn't play after r16, requests trade, been on holidays for 10 weeks. Why take another week and miss day 1 of pre season.

@Browndogg_30x I understand it's not ideal but I reckon he's got some points up his sleeve

@kanecornes hodgey back two weeks early to train with young guys = successful club

Ablett hasn't played since Round 16 after re-injuring his troublesome shoulder.
