Amateur stuns AFL stars in halftime sprint

Amateur player James Shirley has upset some of his more illustrious rivals to take out the grand final sprint at halftime in the AFL decider.

Daw looked to have it won after racing clear of the pack, but the Melbourne local reeled him in over the final twenty metres to complete a victory he’ll never forget.

Shirley finished in a touch over 11 seconds, with his closest rival a good body length or two behind.
