Fevola 'took pseudoephedrine on match day'

Former AFL gun forward Brendan Fevola says he used to regularly take pseudoephedrine on match days.

The former Carlton and Brisbane Lions player said he only stopped taking it when it was returned to the worldwide list of restricted or banned substances in 2010.

Fevola used to take pseudoephedrine in the form of across-the-counter cold medication, Sudafed.

"I used to take Sudafed before every game," Fevola told his fellow campers Shane Warne, Rugby League great Paul Harragon and DJ Havana Brown on I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!

"I used to take it before every game just to make my head feel better and then it got banned so we're not allowed to take it."

Warne also spoke about his run in with authorities when, in 2003, he was banned for a year after taking prescription medicine, Moduretic, supplied to him by his mother.

"I took a fat pill," he said. "I took what was called by my mum a 'fluid tablet' ... I got banned for a year."

Fevola, Warne, Harragon and Brown are among the nine celebrities still remaining in camp following the departure of UK choreographer Bonnie Lythgoe on Sunday night's episode.
