Collingwood have taken another step in their bid to keep their squad together beyond this year with Ben Reid and Alex Fasolo agreeing to new contracts.
Reid and Fasolo have both signed new two-year deals, joining the likes of Scott Pendlebury, Dayne Beams and Heath Shaw in extending their contracts in 2012.
Having won the AFL premiership in 2010 and played in last year's grand final, the Magpies have been expected to let some of their top players go in order to fit under the salary cap next year.
But Collingwood Director of Football Geoff Walsh is thrilled that Reid and Fasolo have joined their team-mates in putting success above money.
"We would like to think Collingwood is club where every player gets a first-class football education, where the best possible chance of achieving team and personal success is available to those who give all that they've got to give," Walsh said on Tuesday.
"It's pleasing that Ben and Alex are both prepared to make that sacrifice and commitment to Collingwood."
Reid struggled with a quadriceps injury earlier this season, missing five games, but the 23-year-old defender has played the last nine matches as the Magpies prepare for the finals.
Fasolo, a 20 year-old forward, played 13 games in his debut season in 2011 and has missed just one match this year, kicking 22 goals.
