Melbourne forward Liam Jurrah has been committed to stand trial on four charges relating to an alleged violent incident in Alice Springs last March.

Magistrate David Bamber felt the evidence presented in a committal hearing over the last two days indicated Jurrah had a case to answer and he has been committed to stand trial on three charges of aggravated assault and one of causing serious harm.

Another charge of aggravated assault has been dropped.

Jurrah will now face trial in Alice Springs on September 3 along with co-accused Christopher Walker and Josiah Fry.

According to the ''ABC'', prosecutors allege Jurrah, Walker and Fry led a group of 20 people to the Little Sisters camp in Alice Springs last March on the night the alleged incident occurred.

Jurrah, who has played one game for Melbourne this season in a 101-point loss to Sydney, has had his bail extended on the condition he returns to Melbourne where he will continue his recovery from a foot injury suffered during that sole appearance.
