AFL great's hilarious response to live F-bomb gaffe

Alastair Lynch has responded to his embarrassing swear word gaffe on live television by sharing behind-the-scenes footage of how it should have played out.

The triple-premiership winning former Brisbane Lions star left footy fans in hysterics during an analysis of Sunday’s match between West Coast and North Melbourne on Fox Footy with co-host, Dermott Brereton.

Lynch was trying to talk about the focus on the ruck battle when he got his tongue excruciatingly twisted.

“For the remainder of the year, every game we’re going to f*** it,” Lynch blurted out before expertly correcting himself without any pause.

Unfortunately for Lynch, the mistake was painstakingly obvious as the horrified look on Brereton’s face and the reaction from fans on social media highlighted.

To his credit, Lynch reacted to the embarrassment by taking the mickey out of himself in another video demonstrating how easy it should have been to get the line right the first time.

Watch him nail it (sort of) in the video at the top of the page.

The Kangaroos beat the Eagles 12.9 (81) to 6.5 (41) as they continued to make Hobart’s Blundstone Arena their fortress with a 14-4 record.

But more significantly, North remain only a game outside the top eight, although their percentage is low.

The loss was a hiccup rather than a disaster for the Eagles, who remain a game clear in second spot with four rounds left.
