Aberdeen 2-0 Spartans: What the managers said

Aberdeen manager Clinton Lancaster:

"I thought we played really well. I thought we started the second half a bit slow and they started to get back into it but we defended really well.

"I was so proud of the players with the way they defended set pieces, I thought Jen [Currie] made some brilliant saves as well.

"We could have been a little bit more clinical in the final third but overall two goals and a clean sheet I'm delighted."

Spartans manager Jack Beesley:

"I am disappointed with the result, I thought it was quite an even game, a competitive game, I didn't think there was much in it.

"We got into decent positions but probably lacked that cutting edge in the final third. We had quite a lot of pressure without creating loads of openings.

"I wouldn't have said we deserved to lose the game but equally I did feel it was quite even. If we'd scored that one off the post at 1-0 I would have felt confident that we would have had a bit of momentum to go on and win the game.

"A disappointing result but lots of big games to come so we just move on to the next one."
