Abdulatif Omar delighted with Sofapaka league debut

Sofapaka defender Abdulatif Omar is delighted after making his first appearance for the club on Saturday.

Omar, who was an unused substitute in last weekend’s GOtv Shield Cup tie against Western Stima, made his first Premier League appearance for Sofapaka in Saturday’s 0-0 draw with Thika United at Thika sub-county stadium

"I am glad to get out and play some Football League games, some competitive fixtures. I would like to get a consistent run of games while I'm here," the soft spoken Omar told the club's official website.

"I thought we played well, but couldn't put our chances away. It was frustrating not only to me but to the entire team and fans. We had several scoring chances but they could not count. We went right until the end though, and to pick up a point is better than losing.

"They were difficult conditions to play under so we had to play long balls at times. The performance was good and I was happy with the clean sheet. I like getting forward. It is part of my game, but I know I have to become a more well-rounded player and that's why I want to first get team football."
