Ravens sign QB Robert Griffin III to 1-year deal

The Ravens on Wednesday announced they have signed the free agent quarterback to a one-year contract to serve as Joe Flacco's backup.

"He came in last week, worked out. Had a real good workout and we were able to come to an agreement late yesterday," Ravens general manager Ozzie Newsome said Wednesday. "He will probably be here early next week to sign the deal."

It didn't take long for Griffin to tweet his newest catchphrase for the upcoming season.

Griffin had previously rejected an offer from the Ravens as well as the Cardinals last offseason because he felt the teams weren't good fits, though he appears to have changed his mind about Baltimore.

Griffin, 28, was selected by the Redskins with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft and remained in Washington until he signed with the Browns in 2016. The Heisman Trophy winner has remained a free agent since the Browns released him in March 2017.

He hasn't played since the final week of the 2016 season.
