The Dodgers and Brewers are discussing a trade involving Ryan Braun and Matt Kemp, according to NBC LA.
The report stated that the two teams have discussed a swap that would send Braun to Los Angeles and Kemp to Milwaukee, but the trade is being held up because the Dodgers are unwilling to part with one of the players in the proposed trade.
Los Angeles acquired Kemp during the offseason in a cash-dump trade with the Braves. The Dodgers were expected to move Kemp before the start of the season, but either didn't find a buyer, or didn't like the return offers.
Braun, a .302 career hitter, has 303 career home runs. The Dodgers have looked sluggish on offense early this season with Justin Turner injured. Braun might be able to provide a lift.
David Stearns never comments on trade rumors — except this one. When he saw the Ryan Braun-Matt Kemp rumblings a half hour ago, he thought it was an early April Fools joke. “There’s nothing to it,” Stearns said.
