John Fox roasted by Michael Irvin, fans in Bears' ugly loss to Lions

Bears coach John Fox has been in the hot seat seemingly forever, and is widely expected to be on the way out in Chicago. But Bears fans, and even NFL Network analyst Michael Irvin, used Chicago's lackluster 20-10 loss to the Lions Saturday evening to once again unload on the coach as a dreadful 4-10 season got even worse.

Irvin was brutally honest about Fox, questioning the first-half game plan limiting quarterback Mitch Trubisky's downfield looks.

"If you ain't gonna let (Trubisky) throw the ball, then get out," Irvin said during halftime.

Once again, Fox's conservative play calling left fans begging for a more aggressive approach. Fans on social media were particularly irked when the Bears, facing a 4th-and-1 at midfield in the first half, opted to punt. The Lions countered with a touchdown on their next drive.

Fox is now 13-33 in his third season with the Bears, a far cry from the success he had earlier in his career when he took two different teams (the Panthers and Broncos) to the Super Bowl.
