Revealed: Why ex-AFC Leopards ace was benched against South Sudan

Uganda head coach, Moses Basena has revealed the reason behind the chopping of former AFC Leopards midfielder, Allan Kateregga from Cranes starting squad to face South Sudan.

The KCCA winger was dropped to the bench with Kaweesa Hood stepping up to his place in Uganda Cranes starting line up, in the second match of the ongoing Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup at Bukhungu Stadium.

The under-pressure Basena justified the decision, saying that that the dreaded winger who started against Burundi, was forced out of the first team squad to accommodate the formation of the day that favours more of attacking.

“We are going to play a 4-3-3 formation and so he (Kateregga) had to pave way for another striker,” said Basena in a pre-match interview.
