Heynckes confirms Muller will start for Bayern against Hannover

Jupp Heynckes has confirmed Thomas Muller will start for Bayern Munich against Hannover on Saturday after recovering from a hamstring injury.

The Germany international has not featured for the Bundesliga champions since a 1-0 win at Hamburg on October 21.

Muller returned to training earlier this week, though, and has done enough to convince head coach Heynckes he is fit to start this weekend.

"We saw the old Muller again in training this week. Thomas is just radiating ambition," he told a news conference.

"I'm glad to have him back again. He'll start tomorrow."

David Alaba (back) and Franck Ribery (knee) may also be in contention, with the former out since the middle of last month and the latter having not played since the start of October.

"We'll see how they are after training and wait for the green light from the medical team before including them," Heynckes added.

Arjen Robben remains absent with a thigh strain, though, and may not be back for the midweek Champions League fixture against Paris Saint-Germain.

"Arjen Robben has been working very hard in the gym, yesterday he did some running outside," Heynckes said.

"I don't want to make a prognosis about his return, there's no use in that, we will have to wait and see whether he'll be able to train with the team come Monday or Tuesday.

"Right now, it's too early to make a statement.

"I don't know, but there isn't much time and especially with Arjen, I'd never risk anything.

"He's obviously highly motivated, like always. But I won't be taking any risks at all."
