Phil Mickelson has been searching for a new caddie since he split with Jim "Bones" Mackay in June, and he did not have to look too far to find a replacement.

The five-time major champion will be joined by his brother Tim Mickelson.

"He's a really good caddie, he knows my game very well, he knows what I do — and what I should do," Phil Mickelson said on Friday. "This is a big year, a Ryder Cup year, and I'm really looking forward to 2018."

The two have worked together in recent months as Mickelson originally said he would work with his brother on a short-term basis before finding a full-time caddie.

Mickelson's brother is a former golf coach at Arizona State and was representing Jon Rahm as an agent, but made the decision to leave and work with his sibling.

"I'm looking forward to getting going again," Mickelson said. "And Tim has just gotten better and better. He knows my game and I know we will work well together."

Mickelson will resume playing next month in the CareerBuilder Challenge in California and plans to play five events in a row with his brother by his side.
