Vice President Mike Pence leaves Colts game after players 'disrespect' flag

Vice President Mike Pence was scheduled to attend the Colts' home game against the 49ers Sunday, but left because players protested during the national anthem.

Pence tweeted his decision, saying he would "not dignify any event that disrespects" the flag.

No one on the Colts' side protested during the anthem, opting to stand with linked arms. However, a reported "15-20" 49ers players knelt.

Pence previously tweeted a picture of himself at the game and said he was excited to watch the ceremony honoring Peyton Manning, who had a statue unveiled outside Lucas Oil Stadium on Saturday.
