New video exposes Vettel's actions in bizarre crash

New vision of Sebastian Vettel and Lance Stroll colliding after the Malaysian Grand Prix appears to identify the real culprit of the crash.

Vettel pointed the finger of blame at Stroll following their "completely unnecessary" post-race collision in Malaysian, but the young Canadian insisted he was not responsible.

And a new video obtained by Sky Sports appears to support Stroll.

Vettel suffered substantial damage to his car after the chequered flag had been waved, following a shunt involving Stroll as both cars headed back to the pits.

Vettel told Sky F1: "I went on the outside to pick up a bit of rubber - I think Lance wasn't looking and wanted to do the same. I was there already and we had contact - it was completely unnecessary. I think he just didn't look.

"It's not my fault if someone decides to pick up rubber and hit another car."

After the incident Stroll told Sky F1: "I was just driving very slowly back to the pitlane. It was a very strange incident."

Malaysia GP stewards ruled “no driver was wholly or predominantly to blame for the incident and will therefore take no further action”, but as you can see in the video above, Vettel was the driver at fault.

The vision shows how Stroll maintained a consistent turn through Turn Five before steering AWAY from the overtaking Vettel.

Watching the footage, former F1 driver and Sky pundit Johnny Herbert said: “Sebastian has effectively driven into him.”

Colleague Anthony Davidson added: “One thing that is for sure is that Stroll isn’t to blame at all, we can conclude that from the new footage.”
